The Daily Owl was inspired by a story I told about my grandpa and the owl. After that post went live I received several heartfelt emails from people that all centered around the majestic owl.

This blog will showcase all things owl in honor of my dear grandpa, Joe Shannon, (he passed away December 2006 and he loved the owls of Montana). The last time I saw him in person was on my wedding day in September a few months before he passed away. I think of him often and I miss him every day.

The idea of the blog is to post one owl image a day (Monday through Friday). This blog was started in September 2009 and will end in March 2010 on the day that was my Grandpa's birthday, March 19. All in honor of him.
